Microlearning

Microlearning is a technique for delivering information in short, targeted bursts that can be completed in under 10 minutes. Each burst focuses on one to three Key Learning Points (KLPs) that are relevant to the learner. These KLPs encourage the learner to think critically and take action. The content of microlearning should be self-sufficient and easy to understand (unitary). In order for microlearning to be effective, it should be repeated at spaced intervals. The intervals can vary based on the difficulty of the material and the level of knowledge of the learner. Each repetition should build on the previous one, presenting the information in different contexts and focusing on higher levels of learning as the learner's understanding grows.
